18 Jan 2008 - Term 3 Newsletter Number 2
There has been a brilliant response from the children for both choir and orchestra. We will now begin Tuesday rehearsals in order to sing and play at our Easter Service in church. The orchestra will need to have their instruments in school each Tuesday as well as on their music lesson day. Mrs Braham will also be asking children who have piano lessons if they would like to play a favourite piece in our Tuesday assembly. Although we do not have a piano, we do have a very reasonable keyboard.
Dance festival 08
Mrs Gill and Mrs Braham were very pleased to see such a wonderful group of enthusiastic girls turn up for the rehearsal on Tuesday. They had imaginative ideas and put in a big effort to make our first session so successful.
School Council
School Council have come up with some great ideas including a nature table at each base, basket balls for KS2, hiring a swimming pool for a family swim, organising a skating evening, redecoration of the toilets at KS2, a netball hoop for KS1 and jigsaws, table tennis, Lego, puzzles and drawing materials for wet play times. Staff will be looking at these ideas on Monday and Mrs Braham will also take some of these ideas to the next School Association meeting. Please remember that there is a multi coloured box at each base that is there for children to pop their written ideas in to.
Thanks to all Council members for their continued hard work.
Bingo Evening coming soon.
Science activities On Thursday 24th January, children and staff will be involved in a variety of Science activities. The KS1 children will be travelling to Alderton at lunchtime and need to be picked up at 3.10pm or they can travel home on the school bus. Please remember that the KS1 children will stay at Dumbleton all day on Tuesday. PLEASE can you ensure that your child’s book bag is clearly labelled as this makes identification much easier. Many thanks.
