Jeans for Genes
Oak Hill children raised £83.29 last Friday. THANK YOU.

HARVEST FESTIVAL
Thank you for your foliage and food contributions.
Reception children played their Autumnal shakers with great enthusiasm and the Oak Hill choir sang beautifully. A big thank you to all the children who shared their Autumn thoughts with family and friends. The produce has already been taken to the
Cheltenham Project.

SCHOOL COUNCIL
The children have had their first meeting with Mrs Braham and they all came along with a wonderful variety of interesting suggestions. Their ideas will be an item on the staff meeting agenda next week.

Reception visit to the KS2 base
On Tuesday 18th October, the Y1 and Y2 children are going to visit Techniquest in Cardiff. The Reception children will therefore be spending the whole day at the Alderton base. Teddington receptions can travel to Alderton on the bus. Dumbleton receptions can travel on the school bus from Dumbleton to Alderton leaving the infant base at 8.35am. Alderton receptions should be taken to the school between 8.40am and 8.50am. There will be a member of staff on duty in the playground to look after them. Mrs Braham will be travelling from Dumbleton with the children on the bus. The children should be picked up from Alderton at 3.10pm or they can travel back to Teddington and Dumbleton on the usual bus run with Mrs Braham. Phew! Any queries?. Please get in touch.

The School Travel Plan (STP)
This has been started in school with the children and we would appreciate your help with assisting your chid to answer the other questions. This will give lots of information to help schools formulate their own STP. Funding is available for some projects. If you have any queries please see the Governor representative who is Mrs Jane Birch, the staff representative who is Mrs Ingrid Gill or the Head teacher Mrs McMurray.

CONGRATULATIONS
to everyone who entered the book fair competition.
Choosing a winner for each year group was very difficult. The results are available in school.

School Association Events
The next exciting event will be the Craft Morning. This will be held on Saturday 3rd November from 10am until 12.30pmin the school hall, Alderton. LOTS of lovely things to make and do.

Christmas Fayre
Friday 14th December 6pm until 8pm

HUGE thanks to Lucy Norman,
who has re-upholstered the comfy chairs in the Reception class. The children will be having a grand opening ceremony on Friday using a lovely pink ribbon and a pair of curly scissors!
Thanks also to the School Association who have funded this project.

Oak Hill Governor News
The Oak Hill Governors met on 26th September at the Dumbleton base. Clare Webb was re-elected Chair and Mark Hunt was re-elected Vice Chair.
As it was the first meeting of the new academic year the terms of reference for the three committees,
Curriculum and Pastoral
Finance and Personnel
Premises, Health and Safety
were discussed and agreed. These committees meet
between the main Governors' meetings and discuss
matters relevant to their terms of reference.
Each Governor is a member of at least one committee and Mrs McMurray sits on all three.
Other matters discussed included:
the plans for the development of the sheds at the Junior Base
the renovation of the porch and front doors at the Infant Base
the recent SATs results
the LA Disability Equality Action Plans
the School Travel Pan
the School Profile
the School Development plan.
If you have any questions about the work of the
Governors, please feel free to contact Clare Webb,
or any of the Governors, through school.
