Nature Quiz
Well done to our team, who were runners up in the recent competition. Many thanks to Carolyn who was the team coach.

New Reception children
WELCOME to all the children who began the first of their induction days today. They had a fun morning making hats, collaging, playing with Duplo, and enjoying lunch in the garden.
Could parents please note that the last induction morning on the 6th July has had to be changed to an afternoon session. Children can be brought to school in time for lunch at 12 noon and collected at the end of the day at 3.05pm. It will not be possible for the new children to travel on the bus back to Alderton.
We look forward to seeing you all next week.

Music lessons for KS2 children will take place on Monday 18th June

Gloucester Cathedral Service
The Y6 children will be taking part in this special service on Friday 22nd June. This year all the Y6 children who are attending the service have been asked to raise money for SHARE, which is a counselling service for 11 to 16 year olds, based in Gloucester. They will be making cakes to sell in school on Tuesday 19th June. The KS2 children will be able to purchase cakes at break time and the KS1 children will be able to purchase cakes before the end of the day. If there are any cakes left they will be on sale until 3.30pm. in the hall. If anyone would like to donate a cake or collection of little cakes they would be greatly appreciated on the day of the sale.
Cakes will be sold for 20p each.

Science visits
All year groups had a great time at the Science Festival in Cheltenham. The KS2 children discovered lots of interesting things about air while the KS1 children saw a child encased in a huge bubble, a balloon blown up in a bottle and
how to skewer a large balloon with a kebab stick!
LOTS of FUN while LEARNING.

School Summer Concert Tuesday 3rd July
All the children will spend the day at the Alderton base. There will be a rehearsal in the morning followed by an afternoon performance at 2pm. There will an evening performance at 6.30pm. These times will be confirmed next week It is important that we know if your child will be on holiday or unable to make the
evening performance due to a prior commitment. Please let your child's teacher know as soon as possible if this is the case. Many thanks.

DRUM CRAZY
This takes place on Tuesday 10th July. The KS2 children will have their workshops during the morning and the KS1 children will be having their workshops during the afternoon. There will be a performance at 2.30pm. Everyone is very welcome to come along and join in. The staff will be having a workshop at 4pm and at 7pm there will be a workshop for parents. Come along and have an evening of d fun! It has been suggested that a glass of wine might help the drumming along!

Pollock
The children and staff will be making a giant Pollock on Tuesday 26th June. This will involve mass flicking and pouring of paint on to canvas squares. Each child will be able to eventually take it home after the whole painting has dried. You are welcome to come along at 3.10pm and have a look. It should be a fun afternoon!

BELL BOAT RACING
Saturday 21st July from 11am.
This annual event forms part of the Tewkesbury Water Festival. We have been invited to enter a team of 8 children and 2 adults. The children do not have to be competent swimmers as they are given buoyancy jackets to wear. They just have to be able to paddle like mad for about 100 meters. If you are interested in this event either for your child to take part or to supervise the Oak Hill team at the event, could you please get in touch with the school office.
